Churchtown with its thatched roofs, Botanic Gardens and charming atmosphere is home to many small independent shops offering everything from local produce, handmade clothing to antiques.
Churchtown is steeped in history and even has a mention in the Doomsday Book. Due to a shipwreck off the Churchtown coast in 1575, where a large cargo of potato’s were washed ashore, secured Churchtown as one of the first villages in England where potatoes begun to be grown.
